Cast iron is a super versatile and effective cooking material that has been used for (literally!) thousands of years in various shapes and sizes. I’ve heard stories of cast iron pans being handed down from generation to generation, and I can see why—I absolutely love mine. Cleaning these can be a somewhat contentious subject, but here’s how I clean mine.
Ingredients
- Coarse Salt
Method
- After you’ve finished cooking allow pan to cool slightly (not completely).
- Add 2 tbsp of coarse salt and 2 tbsp of water.
- Using tongs and a paper towel use the salt to scrub the bottom of the pan.
- Rinse with water and dry completely with paper towel
