Grout can look grotty; dirty and discoloured.  Grout is porous and as we walk over it, splash dirty water onto it and scrub it to ‘clean’, we actually push dirt into the tiny pores.  To help bubble the dirt up to the surface and restore the natural colour of the grout (which may really surprise you) we’ll use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.

  • 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 1/2 cup baking soda

Mix together to create a paste.  Apply this paste to dirty grout and allow it to sit for a few moments.  Then, agitate the mixture with a scrub brush.  Rinse with water and dry, you’ll see, that grout comes clean right quick!

  1. Is this combo safe for marble floor tile? I have six-sided shaped 3″ diameter floor in bathroom.
Does this need to be applied with toothbrush or can I use a rag?
