27 Ways to Use Microfiber Cloths

I still remember the first cleaning cloth I used when I started my cleaning business in 2006. It was a sad, old, recycled rag that came in a large plastic bag full of rags from a janitorial supply company. 

Even as a new cleaner, I knew this rag was absolutely terrible. So I contacted the janitorial supply company and said, “you’ve got to get me something better,” and the company said, “if you’re willing to spend a little more money, try this professional-grade microfiber and see what you think. 

And that was it, the day the game changed, love at first sight, some might say. Microfiber made my job so much easier. I got significantly better results in half the time than regular cleaning rags. This is why I’m such a fan of microfiber. But not any microfiber, premium-grade, professional-quality microfiber. 

However, it’s hard to find great-quality microfiber cleaning cloths. And that’s why I started Maker’s Clean, my cleaning supply company. I wanted to create great, easily-accessible products that would make cleaning so much easier and keep rags out of landfills. 

Some of the microfiber cleaning cloths I have in my home are over ten years old and still going strong! A regular cleaning rag won’t last even half that long before it goes into a landfill. So, Melissa, get to the point of this blog! OK, the point of all this is that today I want to share 27 different ways to clean with microfiber cloths. So let’s get into it!

1. Bathtub Wipe Down

If you’re doing a maintenance clean on your bathtub, meaning you’re giving it a nice wipe down but not dealing with a lot of soap scum, microfiber is your friend here. Spray your tub with an all-purpose cleaner and wipe with a microfiber cloth. 

2. Bathroom Floor Cleaning

Believe it or not, I’ve cleaned my bathroom floors with microfiber cloths for years. I take the same cloths I use to clean the sink and wipe the floors. I use two cloths to clean the whole floor, and I also catch the baseboards. 

3. Clean the Sink

Ever wonder how professional cleaners get that high-polish shine on sinks? As a professional cleaner, I can tell you it’s microfiber. These cloths are super absorbent, so they’ll soak up all that moisture and won’t leave streaks behind. 

4. Polish Mirrors

I like using the Maker’s Clean Glass and Electronics Cloth, folded into quarters. First, I make a cleaning solution of equal parts vinegar and water and spray it on the mirror. Then I work in an S pattern with my cloth, leaving no streaks or marks behind. 

5. Clean Cupboards

I love cleaning cupboard doors with microfiber cloths. I use a general all-purpose cleaner and a folded microfiber cloth. Once again, I work in a simple S pattern. This gets all the stains, marks, and dirt off my cupboards without ruining the finish. 

6. Dry Dishes

7. Drying Shower Glass

8. Clean Baseboards

I once saw a friend using a paper towel to clean her baseboards! But microfiber cloth will lift dust without leaving marks behind, and you can throw it right in the wash to use it again. It’s a win, win. 

9. Washing Machine Clean and Dry

Cleaning the drum of a washing machine is so much easier with a large microfiber cloth. Plus, after I scrub the washing machine gasket, I dry everything with a microfiber cloth to avoid moldy buildup. 

10. Clean the Stove

Honestly, microfiber cloths to clean ovens surprised me, but they work great! Treat your oven with a good-quality oven cleaner and let it sit for a while. Then watch your microfiber cloth do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. 

11. Deep-Clean Oven Burners

12. Car Cleaning

Anyone who’s cleaned a car before knows how amazing microfiber is for this job. It really helps remove all the dust and debris. You can use general purpose cloths for your dash and flat weave cloths for your windows. 

13. Shine Stainless Steel

14. Streak-Free Glasses

15. Dusting

I probably don’t need to tell you microfiber cloths are great for dusting. You want to use them dry to dust, so you’re not gluing any of the dust to a surface with a product. 

16. Eliminate Scuff Marks

Scuff marks on painted surfaces can usually be eliminated with a microfiber cloth and a bit of baking soda. Dampen your cloth with a bit of water and sprinkle on a tiny bit of baking soda. Test a small area first. If successful, scrub and wipe off.

17. Clean TV Screens

I don’t recommend using any product on a TV screen. Instead, simply use a flat weave microfiber cloth and work in an S pattern from top to bottom. 

18. Countertops and Surfaces

A microfiber cloth is your perfect cleaning companion for any countertop, including granite. Spray on whatever cleaning product is appropriate for the surface and work your cloth in an S pattern to get your counter nice and clean.

19. Microwave Spills 

A microfiber cloth is a perfect cleaning tool for a microwave. You can simply spray it with whatever product you’re using and give the entire microwave a wipe. 

20. Leather Cleaning

Microfiber is even safe to use on leather! You can use it dry, or you can add a little bit of leather cleaner to your microfiber cloth before giving your sofa or other leather furniture a clean. 21. Fridge Clean Out

A microfiber cloth is the perfect tool to deep-clean your fridge and get rid of food build=up. A large cloth lets you cover a large surface area and get your fridge clean out done quickly. 

22. Polish Cutlery

If your cutlery is looking a little lackluster, soak it in vinegar. Then, grab a microfiber cloth, dip it in vinegar, and polish. 

23. Manage Spills

Big spills like a full cup of coffee or the dog’s water bowl are easily cleaned up with a large, absorbent microfiber cloth. 

24. Clean Glassware

It’s easy to see fingerprints and dust on glassware. So use a microfiber cloth to get rid of any streaks or marks. You can do this dry or use a cleaning solution of your choice. 

25. Shine Faucets

Faucets are another item in our home that can look grubby with fingerprints. Use an appropriate cleaning solution, and buff everything clean and dry with a microfiber cloth. 

26. Wipe Baby and Toddler Items
